Welcome to our August Blog Hop featuring Summer Fun projects. We hope that you take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers... whether it was something you really like or some new technique that you would like to learn how to do... by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like and what you would like to see more of! Thank you! Now onto our Hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular blog hop, but if you want to follow across Canada, then please start at the beginning and join Michelle at http://mycreationswithmichelle.blogspot.ca . If you came from Angelina of http://creativecraftasticcorner.blogspot.ca then you are at the right place!

This month I chose to feature the Taste Of Summer paper packet, which was a limited release paper, earlier this year. I loved everything about it - the fruit, the complimentary texture sheets and the bright summer colours.

To me paper crafting is so much more than just card making or scrapbooking. But sometimes it's difficult to think outside the box, or find inspiration for these cute home decor type projects. Fabric buntings are very popular right now, so I thought, why not make one out of paper???

I used my paper cutter to cut out the banner pieces, and I dovetailed them by hand. This projects could be done entirely without an electronic cutter (a Cricut, in my case). There are endless embellishments you could use to jazz up your project. My personal favorites are washi tape, and Shimmer Trim, as they are so easy to use. Also, sequins are super trendy right now, particularly in shades of gold and silver.

However, I did end up using my cricut and Close To My Heart's Artfully Sent cartridge to cut out the super cute SUMMER font. You could just as easily stamp the banner title using anyone of CTMH's font stamps.

I held the bunting together using the CTMH Thick Twine in Pixie. It was easy to use, and added just one more touch of whimy to the project.

I chose to display it in my kitchen, by my chalk board. The kids and I chose some of our favorite summer activities, and added them to the chalk board to show what Summer means to us!
